Why Should I Book an Appointment with MEI?
That’s a great question! Hi, I’m Mike Ward (Yes! A real person!), the founder, Chief Order Taker, Chief Executive Tech Junkie, and Brand Ambassador (because everyone loves fancy titles!) of MPWard Enterprises, Inc. It’s nice to meet you, and thanks for stopping by! Please allow me a few sentences (or paragraphs) to answer that for you! ![]()
Frankly, I need to earn your utmost trust for my business to be successful.
Why trust? Because trust is built on open communication, the sharing of information, consistency, and dedication, and I believe trust is THE essential building block for a rock-solid foundation upon building relationships. I love finding and building new relationships, solving problems, and finding ways to make BIG things happen for people! I know firsthand that honesty and hard work are paramount in forging and maintaining meaningful relationships. Only through strictly adhering to these principles have I incorporated and grown prior businesses in the automotive repair and custom fabrication, home repair, and information technology sectors. I know this venture is no different than anything else in life.
I founded MPWard Enterprises, Inc. as an all-encompassing joint venture between my wife, Lisa and mei. A quick, easy, legal, and binding way for us to combine our independent entrepreneurial ventures under one umbrella, so to speak. Our Articles of Incorporation are purposely structured in a way that authorizes us to engage in any legal business operation. We are 50/50 partners, so when we make it big and she decides to kick me to the curb, she’s still covered! ๐ But seriously, as a testament of how strongly I value relationships, I hope my marriage speaks volumes on my behalf! Lisa and I met in August of 1999, and she’s the first and only woman in my life that made me chase her for over 4 months before she would give me the time of day and agree to go on a date with me. We dated on and off for 9 years, until we learned she was pregnant with our first child, and I knew it was time to make things a little more permanent. We’ve been married since 2008, and it has been one roller coaster of a ride! However, it’s certainly shown me that the things in life that are “worth it” take hard work, discipline, and consistency on a level that most people have seemingly lost comprehension or knowledge of today. One day, when I later asked Lisa why sheย
made me chase her for so long, she told me that she needed to know that she could trust me!ย She needed to trust that no matter how hard I was pushed away, I wouldn’t give up on what I claimed to love, and that I wouldn’t run away when things got hard. In that moment, I learned what I felt was all I ever needed to know about all relationships in life.ย
You see, I had my first job as a bicycle mechanic at 12 years old, and started repairing small engines at the same bike shop by 13. At 14, after previously seeing my mom get screwed around by a mechanic, which then pushed me to fix her 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that kept stalling and running like crap when I was about 10 or 11, and also after learning that a life-changing and dream-shattering diagnosis of juvenile diabetes also at 12 would later prevent me from living my dream life of going into the Navy, earning my wings, and becoming a fighter pilot, after a lot of talk of going into Culinary Arts when I got into high school, I had a sudden change of heart. I chose to go to vocational for Automotive Technology.ย In vocational high school, in 1999, as a Junior, I was selected to represent my school in the New Jersey Vocational Industrial Club of America competition, in which I placed 2nd (and my instructor swore I was politically cheated out of 1st, but I digress). I later went on to the University of Northwestern Ohio and studied High Performance Automotive Technology until I withdrew with a 4.0 because I was too eager to get working in my field. At 18 years old, I earned the nickname “King of the Hill,” because I had a reputation for having one of the fastest street/strip 2000 Camaro Z-28’s around at the time. Shortly after, I purchased a stock 1953 Oldsmobile Super 88 2-door Holiday Hardtop that had been parked for about 15+ years and didn’t run, which I then turned into something between a mild and wild custom, which I named, “My Desire.” I became a big contributor and active ranking member of first, a 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s custom car club and well-known rockabilly group, the Hellcats, which I then left alongside the president and founder of the Hellcats, and several other members, and started the Rocket 8’s, which was restricted to entirely custom Oldsmobile owners with a cutoff of 1964. Life changed and I abruptly exited the car scene around 2005-2006. One thing led to another and I fell into IT!ย
Thankfully, my parents always told me they didn’t care what I decided to be in life as long as I chose something I enjoyed, was good at, and could make a comfortable, sustainable, and honest living doing so. Through all of my twists and turns, my dad stood by me on that until cancer took his life in 2015, and my mom still does today. My dad also raised me to believe all a man has in this world is their word, and I’ve kept mine ever since, especially since his passing.
I worked in a few shops and new car dealerships from 16 years old (1998) until approximately 2005 or 2006, when a complication of diabetes, called diabetic gastorparesis, began wreaking havoc on my life and had me in and out of the hospital every 6-8 weeks for 1-2 weeks at a time. It got to the point that customer cars were being left on lifts, I was the only person capable of fixing them, and it left customers in rightfully upsetting positions. From the dealership life, I entered a 6 or so year period of self-employment out of my parent’s driveway. Unfortunately, the sub-par conditions took it’s toll on my body and health, which was already lacking. I came to terms with the fact that I could no longer perform the physical day-to-day tasks required of vocational industries and did something I thought I’d never hear myself say I’d do. I started considering a desk job in the IT field. I just didn’t know what aspect or where to start. My medical condition put me on a path of Cannabis advocacy and activism. Activism led to research and podcasting, then networking, communications, website hosting, and development. Activism also put me in a circle where Daniel Frieling, the documented inventor of what has become known today as Electronic Medical Records, or EMR. Dan and I linked up and befriended one another. He became a close friend and mentor in IT, and brought me into his 41+ year old IT consultation company, Electronic Enterprises, or EECONS for short. Today, I maintain my position as a named Partner and Chief Technology Officer, where I am tasked with the analysis of client operations, identification of weaknesses in manpower, processes, and infrastructure, and working with Dan and our clients to create intuitive and all-inclusive plans that make use of existing and new technologies to increase efficiency, thereby decreasing expenditures and increasing profitability. I am also the Linux and Open-Source Software expert, as Daniel’s expertise admittedly lies in Microsoft Windows and secure, encrypted, HIPAA/PCI-Compliant email systems. It’s a great mutually-beneficial dynamic, as it’s served to take a once-stagnate company and brought new life that’s propelling it from the 20th into the 22nd Century! Early in my IT journey, I founded Prodigy IT Solutions, LLC, or PITS Network, where I also maintain some small consultation, hosting and design services for a few friends, family members, and local small business owners.
Because trust is so important to me, and because I have an extensive background in IT systems, I know how companies thrive off the unknown sale and trading of your data. Because I staunchly believe we, as free people, should be the only ones in control of who has access to OUR information, I take great pride in knowing and publicly declaring that all forms, schedules, video chats, and other contact or communication methods on this website and all sites connected to MPWard Enterprises, Inc. are entirely self-hosted, on my dedicated hardware, housed in my base of operations, and solely under my control! I refuse to rely on careless and untrustworthy third-party service providers to do the right thing. Because, let’s face it, time and time again, they have consistently proven to us that they can not be entrusted with that power! Every time we do, they use our information against us. If you want your business to thrive, do you give your competitors your playbooks? Then why would a respectable company, that’s all about helping other businesses stand out from the crowd, store sensitive information on inferior equipment or on networks commonly exploited in massive ways, that can and likely will be sold to competitors and marketing affiliates so you can be targeted and diverted from your purpose? Doesn’t that sound rather counter-productive?ย
If you’ve taken the time to read this far, first, Thank You! And secondly, I sincerely hope that you can find value in knowing a little about my beliefs, where I come from, how I run my businesses, the kind of advice I can give you for your venture, and the safeguards I have put in place over the others to keep your information safe and secure! If that sounds like you, let’s begin by clicking the button below! I look forward to getting to know you and seeing how we can help! If you’re already struggling and seeking guidance, what do you have to lose?ย
